• Mr. Soumitra Sinha is one of the very well known Supply Chain Management and e-Commerce expert in India having operational experience at senior position in S.A.I.L.. He was Executive Director, Corporate Materials Management Group, S.A.I.L. at Delhi. During his tenure, he was instrumental in putting SAIL’s majority of the items in Sale and Purchase through Forward Auctions and Reverse Auctions respectively. He is known for his major contribution in formulating e-Commerce policies, procedures and systems. He implemented RA’s and FA’s in S.A.I.L. Steel Plants and Units contributing in cost savings. He was Director of Metal Junction from 2002 to 2006. He guided and supported in exponential Growth of the company in conducting Forward and Reverse Auctions. Mr. Sinha is very versatile personality who has shouldered the responsibility as Director on Board of Metal Junction, TATA Refractories and Maharashtra Electrosmelt Limited, Chandrapur.


• He has conducted the centralised procurement of high value items for all units of S.A.I.L., With DSP as the CPA. Computerisation of the stores and purchases started in the areas in his supervision. A high degree of transparency was introduced in the system. Lowest ever level of receipt through constant scrutiny of purchase indents and a survey of available stocks. Inventory reduced substantially due to high consumption of non-moving inventory.
